Catalyze Your Purpose (Part 2: Discovering and Pursuing Your Passion)
Discovering and pursuing one’s passion will help any and every woman become a woman of purpose.
Although I believe understanding who you are as a person is absolutely necessary to understanding your purpose, you must also discover your passion and see what lights up your soul to get more clarity around your purpose.
You see, understanding what you are passionate about will help lead you deeper into understanding more of what the action part of your purpose is, or what you were meant to do in this world.
So in Part 2 of this series, we are going to dive deep into our hearts, passions and the light which brightens our soul.
Catalyze Your Purpose Series: Part 2 – Discovering and Pursuing Your Passion
After diving deeper into what purpose is and discovering who you are as a person last week, some women in the Healthy and THriving Women (formerly the Women of Health and Purpose) group loved the HEART portion of the S.H.A.P.E. assessment as it helped them really grasp more of what their passion is, and how that informs their purpose.
One woman shared that she loved the assessment and her passion is to see other women deepen their relationship with God, lift each other up and share their experiences to help one another.
I want women to know God and deepen their relationship with Him and others. I want us to not tear each other down but to lift each other up, be encouraging, and share our experiences to help others. I value real relationship and discipleship. I am passionate about learning so that I can teach others and give wise counsel.
What’s so beautiful about her passion and many of the other women in the group is that our passions are one and the same!
Many of us are passionate about seeing women not only love who they are, but also support one another in moving forward in their God given purpose which is often discovered once you really look deep at your passions!
This is why in this week’s part of the series, we will dive deep into seeing what lights up your soul.
Reflect on the following questions to help you dive deeper into your passions:
- WHAT DRIVES ME?
- WHO ARE THE PEOPLE I MOST WANT TO HELP?
- WHAT ARE THE NEEDS I FEEL MOST DRAWN TO?
- WHAT CAUSE AM I MOST PASSIONATE ABOUT?
- WHAT ARE 1-3 STEPS I NEED TO TAKE TO MOVE FORWARD IN THIS PASSION?
I also encourage you to look deep into your past at areas either you or someone know you know has struggled or suffered in.
Reason being, often our passions are birthed out of our sufferings and we all tend to want to help others in those same areas we have journeyed long in and struggled with.
Without a doubt, this is definitely true for me.
You see, I’m passionate about holistic, and lasting health because for too long was I enslaved to a bad relationship with food, my body and myself. Then after going through a healing process and understanding the importance of holistic health and real food, I won the victory and freedom that has always been mine to have and have restored my relationship with food, my body and myself.
I’m passionate about thriving businesses because I have finally seen how business can be used for good and to accomplish great things in this world, and I want to see others do what they love while transforming the world.
I’m passionate about true purpose because after finding my worth and purpose in Christ, I can now live out the purpose he has created me for on this earth, and I long to help other women do the same.
So as you are reflecting on the questions, look at your current and past sufferings and see if they inform you more as to what your core passions are.
