Letting Go of the Old and Embracing the New
Back at the beginning of April, I started to reflect on what spring really signifies.
To me, the month of April and spring itself represents a new beginning and the letting go of what once was.
Spring starts to come alive in April. It’s when nature and creatures that were dormant during the winter months come back to life. Flowers bloom, the green grass appears, the cold goes away, the clouds clear up, and animals come out of hibernation.
Easter also falls in April this year, which is a symbol of rebirth and regeneration both from the holiday and celebration point of view (as eggs represent new life) and from the Christian point of view (where Jesus died and rose again so we could have a new life).
Therefore, this season represents new life and a chance for both nature and man to experience something new.
However, in order to experience anything new, we as individuals must let go of the old and what was to make space for the new life and opportunities this Easter and spring season bring.
We Must First Let Go
We must let go of both the good and bad of the past and move forward for what this new season has in store for us.
Personally, I’m ready to embrace the new in both my personal and professional life. I’m ready to let go of anything that didn’t serve me and grab hold of new thoughts, new habits, new opportunities, and new connections.
Over the last few months, I’ve been full-time with my coaching business and have experienced a lot of refinement and growth. It’s been tough, but I’m so grateful because I truly believe I’m a much better person because of it. Not only do I practice more self-care now and have a healthier mindset, but I also have the opportunity to serve my clients and those in my area of influence (in every area of life) better and help them grow because I myself have grown.
But at the same time, I know there is more God has in store. I know there is more areas to grow in my health, relationships, business, purpose, and as an individual. I want to live the abundant, full, healthy, and joyful life I was created to live.
I Must Personally Let Go
Yet, I know that with anything new, comes a letting go and for most of us, it’s a fear of failure.
Fear has aggressively gripped this generation and has told us that we must follow the rules, play it safe, and do what is expected of us. We are too scared to think and act outside of the box and prefer to play it safe rather than take a risk towards the goals and dreams we desire for our lives.
I have let fear win in so many areas for far too long, and I’m ready to live the life I’m supposed to live. Yes, I took a risk and started my own business. Yes, I left the comfort of a secure job. Yes, I’m doing what I love and caring for my own health in the process. But fear of failure still lingers and wants to hold me back.
But today I choose to embrace risk, embrace the possibility of failure, but also embrace the possibility of success. I choose to make crazy goals in my own health journey, my purpose journey and in my life.
Today, I choose to embrace the new so that I can be all that I’m made to be.
What About You?
Friend, what about you? Where are you at in your health, purpose, business and life and where do you want to be?
Are you allowing fear to hold you back from grabbing hold of the healthy life you long for?
Are you letting past experiences dictate your present and future?
Or are you plunging forward with hope and expectation?
Friend, it’s time to embrace this new season and grab hold of the goals, dreams, and life you’ve always wanted and deserve.
