BASICS OF TERRASHIELD ESSENTIAL OIL
Terrashield contains powerful Essential Oils and other plant oils known to provide outdoor protection in a natural, safe way. This newly updated formula contains a select blend of Essential Oils including Fractionated Coconut Oil, Ylang Ylang, Cedarwood, Tamanu, Catnip, Lemon Eucalyptus, Litsea, Arborvitae, Nootka, and Vanilla Bean Absolute—all of which possess specific chemical compounds known to protect against environmental annoyances.
Terrashield is a powerful yet safe formula that can be used by every member of the family, outdoors and throughout the home.
PRACTICAL USES
-Apply to the legs, arms, and neck before going outdoors, or diffuse on your patio.
-Take on camping trips or to outdoor events.
-Spray around your door, window seals, and tent.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
– DIFFUSION: Use three to four drops in the diffuser of your choice.
-TOPICAL: Apply to desired areas before outdoor activity. Reapply every few hours as needed.
I LOVE using this to ward off those pesky mosquitos! I personally get the 30ML Spray version of this from doTERRA to be able to have ease of use when outside.

Here’s some information on the science of Terrashield!
Terrashield is a powerful blend of Essential Oils and other plant oils known to provide outdoor protection in a natural, safe way. This newly updated formula contains a select blend of Essential Oils including Ylang Ylang, Cedarwood, Catnip, Tamanu, Lemon Eucalyptus, Litsea, Arborvitae, Nootka, and Vanilla Bean Absolute—all of which possess specific chemical compounds known to protect against environmental annoyances.
CHEMICAL CONSTITUENTS
Because Terrashield is a blend, each one of oils in the blend contains their own chemical constituent. But today, we will look at Arborvitae’s Chemical Constituents.
“One of Arborvitae’s main chemical components is Methyl thujate. This chemical has a monoterpene backbone with an ester functional group. Because of Arborvitae oil’s main chemical properties, it has a strong renewing effect, as well as makes it a great natural insect repellant.
“Native to the Pacific Northwest of North America, Arborvitae is a majestic evergreen coniferous tree that is valued for its many unique benefits. The variety of chemical components found in Arborvitae essential oil makes it a must-have for wood preservation, as well as a natural insect repellant.” – doTERRA

SAFETY OF CEDARWOOD ESSENTIAL OIL
Below are some thoughts to consider around safety for Terrashield!
Terrashield is an amazing oil for all ages.
WHO: It’s great for all ages, but always see your doctor if you are concerned.
APPLICATION: Terrashield is a great oil to use topically and aromatically.
Like most essential oils, try to avoid contact with the eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas.
DOSAGE: It depends.
Here are some recommended dilution guidelines (Age and Dosage Amount):
– Up to 3 Months: 1 Drop in 1 Tablespoon Carrier Oil
– Up to 24 Months: 3 Drops in 1 Tablespoon Carrier Oil
– 2-6 Years: 5 Drops in 1 Tablespoon Carrier Oil
– 6-15 Years: 1 Drop in 1 Teaspoon Carrier Oil
– 15 + Years: 5 Drops in 1 Teaspoon Carrier Oil
SHELF LIFE: Typical shelf life is roughly 4-5 years as well! You can look at the bottom of your doTERRA Terrashield bottle for the expiration date.
SAFETY PRECAUTION: However, be sure to keep OUT of the reach of children because even though it’s safe, we want to be careful they don’t OVEREXPOSE themselves to it. Also, if you are pregnant or under a doctor’s care, feel free to consult with them if you’re concerned.
Note – this information is just based on my understanding and is just for doTERRA’s Cedarwood – you will need to do your research on other essential oils like this.
USES OF TERRASHIELD ESSENTIAL OIL
Terrahield can be used in SO many ways!
Here are some of its top uses:
– REPELLENT: Diffuse, spray on surfaces, or apply to exposed areas to repel bugs and insects
– CELLULAR HEALTH: Apply to pulse points and bottoms of feet to promote healthy cell function
– SUNSCREEN: Apply to exposed skin with helichrysum or lavender to protect against sun exposure
– SKIN COMPLAINTS: Apply with lavender to troubled skin
– HEALTHY BOUNDARIES: Diffuse or apply to strengthen resolve and boundaries
– WOOD POLISH: Mix with 4 drops fractionated coconut oil to polish and preserve wood as needed
Such a great oil to be used in so many different ways!

I though in addition to talking about the basics, science, sourcing, safety, and uses of essential oils, I would also do a section on the emotional aspect of each oil!

THE OIL OF SHIELDING
‘Outdoor Blend was formulated as an insect repellent, but it also offers so much more. This blend helps individuals stay calm in the face of danger or attack. Outdoor Blend strengthens the protective shield around one’s body, helping them to feel safe. This is especially important for children and adults who unconsciously merge with other people’s energy. They may do this as a way to relieve others’ burdens or to simply lighten the load in the environment.
Regardless of the motives, this type of energetic merging weakness individuals’ energy systems. Babies and young children are especially susceptible to trying to carry loved ones’ feelings for them, as they struggle to know which emotions are theirs and which belong to other people. This blend can assist individuals in separating their own energy from another’s.While the confusion between boundaries is often unintentional, there are also those who would target or attack others. NEGATIVE EMOTIONS: Unprotected, attacked, defenseless, poor boundaries
POSITIVE PROPERTIES: Courageous, confident, self-contained, safe, strong boundaries.
SUGGESTED USES:
– Aromatic: Inhale from bottle, diffuse, or place drops in hands, rub and inhale
– Topical: Place 1 drop in hand, rub, and brush over clothes
– Environment: Add several drops into spray bottle and mist on body or around home
TESTIMONIES OF TERRASHIELD ESSENTIAL OIL
I personally can attest to this amazing oil! Whenever I’m outdoors where there is a lot of mosquitos or bugs, I always spray this on me. It helps ward off the bugs and bites, without all the toxins!
